When you need help:

Organizing, expanding, focusing or consolidating your rental property business and operations,

Addressing city councils in pursuit of variances and building permits for improvements,

Financing the acquisition, development, and construction of rental property,

Finding creative solutions to deal with difficult tenants without evicting, if possible,

Crafting unique leases that allow dual occupancy (weekday/weekend tenants) and unconventional payment schedules,

Assessing the liability risks of tenant improvements such as satellite dishes,

Accommodating some nuisance issues while balancing the interests of all tenants,

Drafting and enforcing Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for a Homeowners' Association,

Resolving border disputes, easement conflicts, and liens without undue expense.

Before I became an attorney, I worked in the construction, development and property management industries, learning each phase from the ground up. Because I am as comfortable analyzing blueprints as researching case law, I can recognize the real problem and start finding positive, constructive solutions immediately. Unlike many attorneys, I enjoy studying the numbers produced by architects, engineers and mortgage brokers alike. From construction budgets to city requirements, I can help your project grow into (or return to) a valuable, secure income-producing asset that you can be proud of.

Because I prefer to work with the individuals who make the decisions, I actively pursue the opportunities presented by small- to mid-sized rental property owners and managers, developers and contractors. While my practice focuses on real estate, I also handle business incorporation, partnership formation, LLC & LLP organization, federal and state taxation, wills, estate planning, and trusts.
